AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as striker. She also captains San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. From 2018 to 2020, she was co-captained by the American women's national soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][9] Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her degree from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there , and was a key player in the team's winning the league title. Morgan was just 22 when she was picked to be part of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where they finished in second place. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final game against Canada. She was second in the U.S. to score 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth most prolific player to score 20 goals in a single year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan helped to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was named to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In the year 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
